Facelift

How much younger can you look after a facelift? Sydney Plastic Surgeon Dr Steve Merten explains that a facelift can minimize any sagging, wrinkles, and folds in your face and chin, and this can often give a more youthful appearance because the skin is repositioned and any extra skin has been trimmed off. As you age your skin tissues change in elasticity, and once firm skin may start to wrinkle and sag as a result. A qualified plastic surgeon can evaluate whether you are a good candidate for this type of plastic surgery, or if other less invasive and less expensive methods and treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections, may be just as effective.

Each Facelift Case is Different and Unique

Each person is different and unique, and so is each facelift case. A consultation with a highly qualified plastic surgeon will help you determine whether a facelift is right in your situation. There are various types of facelifts including a standard facelift, mini facelift and mid face lift. Further, a facelift is often combined with a forehead and eyelid lift.

Plastic Surgery Results Can Never be Guaranteed

Any time you have plastic surgery, whether you have a facelift or Breast Enlargement, it is important to remember that the result scan not be guaranteed. There are many variables involved, and there are some potential risks and possible side effects that you need to be aware of before you undergo plastic surgery. In many cases the desired results can be achieved, but make sure that you only use a plastic surgeon that is experienced and reputable in this field.

Who Should Not Have Plastic Surgery?

Any type of plastic surgery will carry certain risks, and there are some cases where a facelift or other plastic surgery would not be recommended by a plastic surgeon. If you are in poor health, if you have any problems with your ability to heal for any reason, or if you are having plastic surgery procedures to please someone else then you are probably not a good candidate for a facelift. The plastic surgeon that you will use should go over all of the factors involved in your specific case and then determine whether you could benefit from a facelift.

What Should I Look For in a Plastic Surgeon?

Start with a list of plastic surgeons who are all qualified, and then start weeding out some of the possibilities. Research whether the medical professional has a large number of complaints or lawsuits against them. Ask for references or look at before and after plastic surgery photos to see what you can reasonably expect. Make sure that any plastic surgeon being considered has the necessary education and experience to perform your plastic surgery.
