pureaestheticsbodysurgeryBody surgery is now a normal event, with procedures performed by Pure Aesthetics surgeons daily, for a variety of reasons. Some patients will do so for aesthetic reasons, in order to better improve their body image, while other patients choose to correct areas that have been altered due to accidents or illness.

Regardless of the reason, always be sure to consult with your doctor, and ask any questions you may have to ensure you are comfortable before proceeding with your surgery.

The Neck

Of all the procedures that patients request targeting the neck area, the most common is liposuction. By surgically removing the stubborn fatty deposits that create lumps and jowls, the surface area of the neck becomes smooth almost immediately, giving it a more youthful appearance.

The Chest

Another favored target area for both men and women is the chest region, specifically breasts. For women, they will elect to have body surgery in order to enhance, enlarge and augment their breasts.

Men are often embarrassed by their chest if they feel they have ‘man boobs’. They may choose to undergo a body contouring procedure to reduce and reshape their chest so it is smoother and firmer.

At Pure Aesthetics our surgeons provide holistic practical advice during your consultation, to help prepare you for your likely feelings, as well as your new appearance, should you decide to have breast surgery.

The Stomach

One of the most often identified procedures for the stomach is a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. This is often chosen by people who have had fast and/or significant loss of weight, or women who have had multiple pregnancies. Quite often these people find that diet and exercise won’t flatten the stomach.

This procedure removes excess skin, and where ever possible stretch marks, and tightens abdominal muscles. In some instances liposuction may also be required to remove stubborn fat deposits. This may result in a flatter, more toned stomach.

The Legs

Both men and women suffer from spider veins, the purple veins that are generally found on the legs, but can also appear on the arms. Apart from the unsightly appearance of these veins, they can also hinder blood circulation, potentially damaging muscles and tissues.
A procedure called sclerotherapy is often a successful way treat these veins. When carried out soon after the veins appear it may even reduce the effects of poor circulation and blood disorders.

Sclerotherapy reduces the size of the blood vessel, so that it fades in colour to tone in with your flesh. After the procedure you will need to wear medical grade compression stockings to assist with your recovery, by reducing swelling and stimulating circulation.

The number of repeat treatments you will require depends on the stage and extent of your spider veins. This will be determined by the Pure Aesthetics plastic surgeon during your consultation and assessment.
