Dr Ferch completed her medical education at the University of Sydney and continued to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to work during her training in anaesthesia. To finish her specialisation, she underwent training in a fellowship at the Prince of Wales Hospital, followed by time working at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
